Dental implant impression transfer components (also known as transfer posts, pickup copings, impression copings etc but hereinafter referred to as ‘impression components’) are devices designed to transfer the intraoral position of an implant head and its connection mechanism to the laboratory to allow construction of a laboratory model using implant analogues locked into the cast. There are obviously many different impression component designs in line with the many different designs of implants.
